K7TFT-1 APRS Digipeater is a new Digipeater for SLC.
Update:
>
- I've taken this offline for now.. Reasons: too close to my 2M SSB antenns, and I have a better location for the antenna I would like to move it. If there was more interest, I would put it back, but it seems that I was the only one who needed it.
Status:
- This digipeater does not send packets in bursts since most Yaesu APRS radios cannot parse anything but the first packet in the burst on this digipeater. I found this to be a problem with other digipeaters too. When sending a message to ANSRVR the sent message is ack'd followed by the responce without a sequnce number. This has been puzzling me for a while until experimenting with this setting. My best guesses as to the problem are that the packet frames are not separated by two FEND symbols, and the radios are expecting two FEND symbols evne though this is not requried. Or possibly the decoder requires time between the packets. At some point I'll get a raw capture, and do some experimentation with this.
- The digipeater consists of a Microsat WX 3 in 1 Plus 2.0, FT-2980R, and a Comet GP-1 (I think) 144/440 Antenna. The system is installed in a temporary location until I move it to to top of my garage adding some extra height and replacing the antenna.
- I'm unsure of the output Mic gain and audio pwoer levels. At some point I'll be testing with a dummy load, and a scope to get this tuned. It sounds ok to me, but I don't know how to tell by ear.
- My internet connection has been breifly going out during the afternoon for a few minutes.
Signal reports, etc are welcome. Please let me know if ANSRVR, SMSGTE, and messaging in general is working.
Send feedback via email to my sign at qsl.net.
Or APRS messaging.
